How an order works, from start to finish
What happens when a customer orders, and what you need to do at each step.
- 1The customer checks out. They enter their name, WhatsApp number and email address, choose delivery or collection, and add an optional note.
- 2You are notified. You receive a "New order" email, and the order appears in Orders under Needs a total.
- 3The customer receives their total. If your delivery fee is fixed and you do not use a payment link, Kartzy emails the customer their total and payment details automatically. Otherwise, you add the delivery cost or payment link and send it yourself (see Sending the total).
- 4The customer pays you directly. The order moves to Waiting for payment.
- 5You mark it paid. Once the money is in, mark the order as paid (see Marking an order as paid). The customer is emailed a confirmation, and the order moves to Paid, to hand over.
- 6You hand it over. Deliver or hand over the order, then select Mark collected / delivered. The order moves to Done.
Tip
With iKhokha automatic card payments, steps 3 to 5 happen automatically: the customer pays by card straight after checkout, and the order is marked paid for you.
To try the whole process safely, run a practice order.
